The intent of this book is to provide the interior design student a well-rounded knowledge of Autodesk Revit tools and techniques. These skills can then be applied to enhance professional development in both academia and industry. The overall premise of the book is to learn Revit while developing the interior of a two story law office. The reader is provided an architectural model with established columns, beams, exterior walls, minimal interior walls and roofs in which to work.
This allows more emphasis to be placed on interior design rather than primary architectural elements. The chapters chronology generally follows the typical design process. Students will find this book helps them more accurately and efficiently develop their design ideas and skills. The first chapter ffee the reader to 2104, Building Information Modeling BIM and the basics of opening, saving and creating a new project. The second autodrsk a quick introduction to modeling basic elements in Revit including walls, doors, windows and more.
This chapter is designed to show students how powerful Revit is and hopefully make them more excited about learning it. The remainder of the book is dewign developing the interior space of the law office with an established space program. A student will learn how to view and navigate resign the provided 3D architectural model, managing and creating materials and develop spaces with walls, doors and windows.
Once all the spaces are added to the model, several areas are explored desin used as the basis to cover Revit commands and workflows. This is a fairly good book, interior design using autodesk revit 2014 free it covers a lot of ground. However, one of the most confounding parts of the book and materials are the Appendices B and C which are found on the DVD that comes with the book.
The information covered in these DVDs include such things as the basics of drawing lines, boxes, circles, osnap settings, and various types of objects, etc. The problem is that while the Appendices are in PDF format, it is not possible to print them out to reference, interior design using autodesk revit 2014 free so the only way to use them is to autodes, two computers going at once, with one computer devoted to the opened pages of the PDF documents interior design using autodesk revit 2014 free the other devoted to the Revit program.

The book begins with some basic Revit guidance, however I especially appreciate the amount of detail it provides about how to use and interior design using autodesk revit 2014 free materials for rendering, how to create ceilings, stairs, toilet rooms, floor finishes, signs, and so on.
The book also gives website locations dedign one can download Revit families from product manufacturers such as cabinets, carpets, paint colors, etc. This is the fifth book I've purchased on Revit, and it has far exceeded my frer as it has really filled in a lot of gaps I've found lacking aurodesk my other books.
And I give the book high marks for describing every technique in easy to follow step by step instructions - and I haven't even opened the included DVD yet!

It is an amazing resource. Highly recommended. It is such a good book that I almost didn't want to leave a review about it to keep it a secret. The book is great it goes into a little more detail into what goes behind making a proper revit material. Overall the author knows his material, and is extremely knowledgeable in the subject.
I only wish that these book would start publishing in color pictures. I was glad that the book was like new and that the disc that accompanies the book was also in there.
